FacultyPosition Summary:
The Plumbing Instructor is a part-time Continuing Education faculty member responsible for conducting instruction at Mechanical Trades Carolina Training Center in Cabarrus County. The instructor is responsible for maintaining instructional quality and effectiveness through constant and timely revision of course elements and syllabi to meet plumbing industry workforce demands. They are expected to stay current in the subject matter through professional development. The instructor will plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning; employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students, including strategies to meet diverse students’ needs. The instructor is responsible for assisting in the recruitment and retention of apprentices registered with the NC Dept. of Labor. The instructor is also responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director.
Required Education/Experience:
- Completion of documented 4 or 5-year apprentice program and/or 2-year degree.
- Ten years experience in plumbing or a related field.
- Two years of classroom experience and 10-Hour OSHA Certification required.
- Commercial plumbing license or a plumbing inspection license.
- Knowledge and understanding of NC Plumbing Code and plumbing systems.
