Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

One of 12 schools and colleges located on the University of Maryland, College Park campus, the Robert H. Smith School of Business is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. A comprehensive business school, Smith offers undergraduate, full-time and part-time MBA, M.S., Executive MBA, PhD, and non-degree executive education programs as well as outreach services to the corporate community. The school is consistently ranked among the top business schools by leading business publications such as Business Week, Financial Times, U.S. News & World Report, and The Wall Street Journal.

The Department of Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park seeks to hire one faculty member at the assistant professor level to begin in Fall 2022, contingent on budget approval. The successful applicant will be expected to conduct top-level scholarly research, deliver high-quality teaching, and perform service. The position will be expected to teach courses to undergraduate, MBA, MS, and Ph.D. students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree or are expected to receive one within a year after starting the job.  Beginning Assistant Professor candidates should have outstanding research potential and more advanced candidates should have excellent publication records in relevant leading journals. All applicants are expected to possess excellent teaching skills. 

Preferences:

Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach data analytics related courses.
