Location: Daybreak Star Cultural Center and Labateyah Youth Home (M-F 8:00am – 4:30pm)
Job Description
The United Indians of All Tribes Foundation (UIATF) invites applications for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our HR department. This pivotal role encompasses strategic planning, development, and comprehensive management of HR operations to align with our organizational goals and support the well-being of our employees. The HR Manager will be instrumental in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, benefits administration, and strategic HR planning and execution, ensuring our workforce is engaged, supported, and culturally aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Recruitment and Onboarding: Develop inclusive recruitment strategies, manage end-to-end hiring processes, and facilitate seamless employee integration.
- Employee Relations and Performance Management: Serve as a trusted HR advisor, fostering a positive work culture, addressing employee issues, and leading performance management efforts including coaching and disciplinary actions.
- Training, Development, and Succession Planning: Identify training needs, develop programs for professional growth, and implement career paths in collaboration with department heads.
- Compliance, Benefits, and Compensation Management: Ensure adherence to laws and policies, manage employee benefits, and conduct compensation and benefits analysis to inform strategic HR decisions.
- Strategic HR Planning: Work closely with senior management to devise and implement HR strategies that support organizational objectives and enhance workforce stability and engagement.
Additional Duties
- Analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and refine retention strategies.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and maintain accurate employee records.
Desired Qualifications
- Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Human Resources, or related field required; and relevant certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a nonprofit or with Native American communities. Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, and legal requirements.
- Skills: Proficiency in Washington state employment laws, FMLA, L&I claims, Paycom, with a strong understanding of compensation strategies, employee relations, and safety practices.
- Cultural Competency: Familiarity with Native American culture and issues preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all organizational levels.
