Summary:
The Director of Operations assumes responsibility for the operational management of Akron Children’s Health Collaborative (ACHC) and provides recommended strategies to support and implement necessary change in order to meet value-based agreement requirements. Operational management includes those departments that provide data and analytics support, collaborating with the VP of Population Health on activities that support the internal ACH and external Provider outreach network and management efforts, collaboration with the Director of Managed Care on contracting services and collaboration with the ACH VP of finance on the financial processes that support the mission of ACHC. Collaborates with the Vice President of Population Health, Senior Director of Care Management and Chief Population Health Officer in the planning and directing of the administrative and clinical operations, contracting, finance, and business development for care management and care coordination operations within the sub-capitation model hosted by Akron Children’s Health Collaborative (ACHC).
1. Supervises assigned management teams and provides direction, coaches, mentors, trains, develops and manages performance of data and analytics department and to overall ACHC goals and expectations.
2. Ensures the work environment is one that promotes employee engagement and retention and actively involves employees in work environment improvements.
3. Prepares, manages, and adheres to department budget to maintain expenditure control.
4. Provides visionary goals and ensures implementation of the strategic plan for designated departments.
5. Provides analytics support to ACHC departments to support the delivery of quality care to patients.
6. Coordinates compliance processes and oversight associated with sub-capitation contracts and regulation and provides adherence to same.
7. Responsible with the VP of Population Health for planning and directing the administrative, operations, finance, and business development to allow for adherence to the mission and program goals.
8. Plans, develops, implements, and monitors department, contracts, corporate policies, performance standards, goals, and objectives.
9. Implements and evaluates necessary quality improvement, contract audits, customer service, programmatic growth, payor contracts and accreditation programs on a consistent basis.
10. Works collaboratively with the VP of Population Health in supporting the Provider network.
11. Coordinates compliance with ACH and ACHC corporate requirements.
12. Carries out the leadership and administrative responsibilities of management in an accurate, timely and results oriented manner.
13. Other duties as required.
Technical Expertise
1. Experience: Acts Key member of management, understands the business, financials, industry, customers, and strategy.
2. Experience: Director level healthcare management experience is required.
3. Experience: Pediatric Healthcare required.
4. Demonstrates skill in leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, business, professional accountability, advocacy, relationship management and networking.
5. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
6. Demonstrates excellence in coordinating activities and multi-tasking is required.
7. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) is required.
Education and Experience
1. Education: MBA, MHA or advanced degree in clinical or business field.
2. Experience: A minimum of 7 years of healthcare or health insurance industry experience required.
3. Experience: Working in a management capacity in an organization managing value based/sub-capitation is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: 5 years supervising professional level and/or professional level clinical employees is required.
