JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President of Education will work closely with HFA’s President & CEO to lead the development and execution of the educational programs that provide value to the bleeding disorders community. Success in this role requires a positive attitude and the innate ability to listen to team members and partners and respond to the needs of the bleeding disorders community. The individual in this role will also successfully demonstrate servant leadership, manage multiple projects, possess a strong work ethic, demonstrate excellent communication, and analytical skills, and a high attention to detail.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, the Vice President of Education will act as a leader to carry out the duties required of the position. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure education team is focused on HFA’s mission and objectives
  • Work collaboratively to develop a strong education team
  • Cultivate relationships with member organization to support and foster active engagement and deploy successful HFA projects/programs/initiatives nationally
  • Manage the creation of programming toipcs for development by subject matter experts
  • Manage, review and update the collection and reporting process for metrics and data that illustrate positive results and/or outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with the team to plan and manage HFA programs and initiatives
  • Manage education team staff and volunteers
  • Work with leadership to facilitate coaching, mentoring and training of education staff
  • Ensure staff and program partners have an environment of creativity and open exchange of ideas
  • Continually look for team and process efficiencies and / or performance improvement opportunities
  • Provide regular project/initiative status and program updates to staff, member organizations, funders, committees, etc.
  • Support collaborative efforts with program partners to strengthen national presence.
  • Enable creativity and open exchange of ideas
  • Promote positive HFA identity both internally and externally
  • Initiate consistent, responsive, and effective internal and external communication

 

KEY RESULTS:

  • Ensure educational curriculum meets HFA’s mission and purpose
  • Envision and lead national educational initiatives to meet or exceed set goals
  • Evaluate programs and lead continual improvement efforts
  • Strive to reach beyond satisfaction to build loyalty and trust within the community

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven to ten years proven successful experience in a similar role.
  • Positive servant leader attitude and ability to lead collaboratively on a high-performance team.
  • Excellent oral, written, and social media communication skills.
  • Prior non-profit experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change across a diverse population.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, project management and negotiation skills.
  • Highly developed sense of detail orientation and follow-through.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some evenings, weekends and travel (at least four to five times a year) required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows 7 and above.
  • Proficient in applicable systems and software.
  • Experience with the bleeding disorders community is a plus.
