The primary duties for this position are to develop and test a high-throughput cell-free assay for measuring the DNA-binding specificity of dCas9.


 

Job duties include:

  • Using existing data from the Gersbach and Crawford labs to develop DNA libraries containing guide RNAs with different properties (e.g. different specificities, different effects on gene expression, or different phenotypic effects)
  • Developing and refining experimental protocols for testing dCas9 in complex with select gRNAs for their DNA-binding specificity and sensitivity
  • Pre-processing and analyzing the results obtained using the new assay
  • Preparing the results for presentation in manuscripts and grant applications.

 

The candidate should have, at minimum, Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant field and at a minimum, experience with DNA-binding
