The Institute for Priestly Formation (IPF) was founded in 1994 with the mission of forming seminarians, priests, and bishops in holiness and accompanying them in their ongoing spiritual growth, so that they can more effectively lead others to Christ.
The Institute for Priestly Formation Foundation, established in 2012, exists for the exclusive support and benefit of the Institute for Priestly Formation.
Position Information
Job Title: President
Reports to: The Institute for Priestly Formation Foundation Board
Position type: Full-time, 40 hrs./week; Exempt/Salaried
Location: Omaha, NE
Summary of Position
Provide leadership and management of the direction, planning, and execution of all philanthropic activities of the Foundation. Develop and maintain relationships with benefactors, board members, staff, and volunteers to continually engage them in advancing the mission of the Institute for Priestly Formation.
Specific Responsibilities
· Increase overall philanthropic support to IPF.
· Provide proactive, creative, strategic leadership to drive the success of the development plan, including building up investments and establishing a national outreach.
· Oversee and coordinate all plans to build and foster relationships with current and prospective donors in conjunction with the Institute’s Executive Director, maintaining local contacts while building national relationships.
· Develop and maintain a robust major gifts program.
· Cultivate long-term relationships with candidates for planned giving programs.
· Create and manage an annual fundraising budget in coordination with the Foundation Board and the IPF Executive Director.
· Oversee all donor and prospect communications including e-newsletters and print newsletters, in consultation with the IPF Executive Director, with production support from the Foundation staff.
· Provide daily supervision and management of paid staff and volunteer positions doing development work.
· Support the Foundation Board and designated Board committees, developing agendas, preparing related documentation, and minutes for meetings.
Miscellaneous
· Work in close collaboration with the IPF Executive Director
· Serve as ex-officio non-voting member of the IPF Board of Directors, reporting to the Board regarding Foundation activities.
Additional information:
· Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding benefactor information.
· The responsibilities of this position require work to be accomplished primarily on-site at the IPF Office.
· Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in related area
· 5-7 years of experience with fund development
· Demonstrated success in securing major support from private and/or public sources for educational and operational projects, grant writing and meeting annual fund goals
· Demonstrated success working as a member of a team and developing effective working relationships with board members, staff, volunteers, the public and donors
· Proven record of working with alumni and cultivating those connections
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal, written, and listening
· Friendly, professional manner
· Excellent, positive, and authentic relationship skills
· Deep knowledge of fundraising processes, practices, and procedures
· Proficiency in working with fund raising software, and Excel, Word, and Power Point
· Demonstrated experience in Roman Catholic Church fundraising
· Ability to enthusiastically support the mission of the Institute for Priestly Formation
Salary commensurate with experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
