The Recruitment Officer is accountable for the full life cycle of sourcing and recruiting talent for ProBAR vacancies.

As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of up to 45% of the time.

The Salary
The starting hiring range for this position is $78,240.00 - $96,170.00 based on relevant experience and education.

Job Summary / General Purpose of Job
The Recruitment Officer is accountable for the full life cycle of sourcing and recruiting talent for ProBAR vacancies.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
- Represents the ABA at conferences, professional associations, recruiting events, career expositions, colleges and universities, etc. with the focus of expanding the talent pipeline and enhance of the ABA as a viable employer.
- Develops comprehensive recruitment strategies, with a focus on legal recruitment, utilizing a broad array of resources and operational/institutional knowledge to identify the most qualified candidate for current and forecasted vacancies. Responsible for reviewing existing and creating new recruitment strategies in collaboration with other departments to ensure the expeditious attraction and recruitment of talented individuals.
- An ambassador of ABA HR and collaborates with hiring managers to identified preferred qualifications in potential candidates and potential sources of internal and external candidates. Develops and manages hiring managers’ recruiting expectations based upon the current talent market and any potential skills scarcities in
- Continuously develops new and fosters existing professional relationships with the purpose of identifying prospective active and passive candidates to maintain an active talent pool from which viable candidates may be sourced for both domestic and international assignments.
- Provides initial information to applicants to match candidates with ABA opportunities referring only qualified candidates to apply to the applicable requisitions.
- Maintains Internship and Fellowship programs for ProBAR. Communicate with the ABA and ProBAR departments and Engagement and development to ensure internship agreements and fellowship contracts are successfully implemented. Screens applicants for internship and fellowship programs to assist in the selection process. Coordinates with applicants, fellowship programs, and ABA entities to secure fellowship opportunities. Ensures compliance with onboarding and offboarding. Provides up-to-date recruiting information when attending conferences and recruiting events.
- Maintains all required ABA and governmental compliance records [e.g., applicant flow, diversity outreach initiatives, etc.] for all acquisition assignments and ensure appropriate and unbiased interviews are conducted by the hiring manager.
- Responsible for creating and implementing an effective communications plan that provides the value proposition of ABA ProBAR’s job opportunities. In coordination with relevant internal stakeholders, responsible for reviewing and maintaining recruitment content on all job postings and promotional material.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources management or a related business or social science field, or the equivalence of five (5) years of professional recruiting responsibilities.
- A minimum of five years professional recruiting experience which must have included full recruiting life cycle responsibilities to include sourcing, screening, providing information, managing hiring manager expectations, and follow appropriate compliance in a domestically and/or internationally focused recruiting environment.
- Previous experience working at a non-profit organization or recruiting for non-profit organizations.
- Previous experience monitoring and fulfilling sourcing and recruiting expectations under all federal, state, municipal, and in the case of non-U.S. locations, country requirements.
- Intermediate proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, OneDrive, teams.
- Must have reliable internet and phone connection.
- Must be familiar with conducting virtual meetings, training, and observations on software such as Zoom, Teams, etc.
- Prior experience in the recruitment of attorneys.
- Prior experience in the recruitment for positions in immigration.
- Written and spoken fluency in a secondary language based upon the location and client base served.
