SUMMARY
The lakeshore operations manager plays a vital role assisting the executive director in overseeing the daily operations and strategic initiatives of GRCC’s Lakeshore Campus. With a focus on student success, faculty support, and campus community engagement, the lakeshore operations manager collaborates closely with the executive director and various departments to ensure the campus functions efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the associate director will assist in developing and implementing emergency response protocols to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff.
A primary role of this position is to ensure a welcoming environment for current and prospective students and their families, where they will obtain accurate and timely information and support. The associate director will work closely with various campus wide departments to assist with the planning, scheduling, and coordination of enrollment and outreach activities, campus community engagement activities, as well as coordination of services necessary to support virtual and on-site student supports. This position also supports budget management; data collection, analysis, and reporting; and the development and documentation of customer service policies, processes, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Assist in overseeing daily operations of the Lakeshore Campus, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to college policies and procedures
● Collaborate with executive director to implement strategic goals, policies, and initiatives at the Lakeshore Campus
● Manage student services and support functions at the Lakeshore Campus, including admissions, registration, advising, and student activities
● Develop and implement emergency response protocols to ensure the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff as appropriate, and in collaboration with other stakeholders
● Coordinate academic programs and course offerings at the Lakeshore Campus, working closely with other GRCC schools to schedule classes and ensure curriculum alignment
● Implement marketing and recruitment strategies to attract and retain students at the Lakeshore Campus, working with the college’s marketing and communications team and student success division to promote programs and events
● Monitor budgetary expenditures and financial operations of the Lakeshore Campus, ensuring fiscal responsibility and compliance with budgetary policies
● In partnership with the institutional research office, collect and analyze data related to student enrollment, retention, and success rates, as well as feedback from stakeholders, to identify areas for improvement and to inform decision-making
● Utilize data-informed insights to develop and implement initiatives aimed at enhancing student outcomes and operational effectiveness at the Lakeshore Campus
● Participate in college committees and professional development activities to contribute to institutional effectiveness and personal growth
● Research, identify, recommend, and implement new, innovative technologies and strategies to increase student access and satisfaction, as well as to improve staff efficiency
● Participate in the development and implementation of the annual department plan and ensure the integration of GRCC’s mission, vision, and values into daily work
● Implement and oversee a survey system to regularly monitor the student and staff experience and overall satisfaction, respond to issues, and provide feedback to staff
● Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work non-traditional hours to meet event objectives and support college programming
● Regular attendance during normal scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
● Bachelor’s degree in applicable field required
● Master’s degree in higher education or related field preferred
● Fluency in Spanish preferred
Work Experience
● 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in educational administration, preferably in a community college setting
● Experience in managing programs, personnel, and budgets preferred
● Experience in student affairs, academic advising, or related areas preferred
● Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to support student success preferred
● Experience in community outreach, partnership development, and/or engagement activities preferred
Skills
● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders
● Ability to motivate others toward achieving institutional goals
● Demonstrated leadership ability, including experience supervising staff and leading teams
● Knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and regulations

Physical Demands
● Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods during campus events, meetings, and daily work routines
● Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds of equipment or materials for setup and teardown of campus events
● Capacity to travel between campus locations as needed for meetings, trainings, and events

● Proficient in managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a dynamic educational environment
● Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships, motivate others, and work effectively as a member of a team

Working Conditions

● Position is primarily office-based but may require occasional travel between campus locations for meetings and events
