Job Title: Director of Advancement
Fostering Hope is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Advancement. This is an extraordinary opportunity to work in a caring environment supporting young people in foster and kinship care.
As the Director of Advancement, you will be responsible for the management of our foundation and corporate grants, donor stewardship and recognition, management of donor database, and special event planning. In addition, you will help to strengthen and grow the Fostering Hope brand and all aspects of marketing communications to raise awareness about the organization. This position is full-time, exempt, and reports to the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
- With support from the Executive Director, develops and executes comprehensive fundraising and marketing plans and objectives with targeted goals, quantifiable outcomes, and timelines.
- Writes, submits, and secures general operating and capacity building grants. Writes and submits the associated grant reports.
- Collaborates with program staff to brand programs, series, events, and notable achievements across multiple platforms. Creates unified messaging that connects on-air, print media, direct mail, social media, and other fundraising campaigns and activities.
- Directs the creation, production, and distribution of all marketing materials, such as newsletters and publications (print and digital) and ensures the consistent use of all print and electronic branding assets such as letterhead and logos.
- Oversees Fostering Hope’s website.
- Strategically selects sponsorship opportunities and community outreach events that elevate Fostering Hope’s brand awareness.
- Identifies meaningful ways members of the Board of Directors can participate in revenue-generating activities. Provides fundraising reports for the Executive Director to share with the Board.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum five years proven and measurable experience in developing and implementing a wide variety of fundraising and/or marketing programs for a non-profit organization.
- Advanced knowledge of fund development theories, principles, and procedures.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstration of successful attainment of annual funding goals >= $750,000.
- Demonstration of success in writing and securing government grants and foundation support.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Ability to plan and execute successful special events.
- Experience with donor management systems.
- Commitment to a high standard of ethics and to promote the donor bill of rights.
- Commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality with information acquired about Fostering Hope’s prospects, donors, and volunteers.
- Ability to keep up-to-date with changing trends in nonprofit fund development and marketing.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
