We are seeking a Branch Coordinator to lead the operations within the Intelligent Systems Branch (RQ) and Center (ISC) in the Research and Exploratory Development Department (REDD). Directly supporting the Branch Supervisor/ISC Chief and Assistant Branch Supervisor, you will be the primary POC for Branch and Center initiatives, communications, events, and facility operations to advance the strategic goals of the ISC as a center of excellence for APL and for the nation.  You will develop an understanding of the technical work being performed and be able to clearly convey the methodology, impact, and importance to others.  In REDD, we strive to cultivate a highly collaborative, fulfilling, and even lively environment! 

 

As a Branch Coordinator you will...

 

  • Serve as the ISC project manager for all ISC-hosted events from initial concept to day-of execution and retrospective review.  This includes all event communications, space planning, tour and demonstration coordination, consideration of the overall experience, and organization of contributors and participants. In consultation with leadership, develop priorities and execute engagement initiatives to advance the ISC mission. 
  • Lead efforts to better understand and use all ISC lab and office space. In coordination with leadership and the Communications Department, develop and implement a strategy to ensure the facility maintains its innovative look and feel. 
  • Develop an understanding of internal and external factors that affect or could/should affect ISC operations and independently generate proposals to provide insight and recommendations to ISC and REDD leadership.  
  • Assist in the development of strategy, spotlight, and other presentations, ranging from content curation and creation to editorial review. Assist in writing various branch reports, communications, and staff-relevant documentation. 
  • Provide operational, managerial, and administrative coordination across all areas of the RQ Branch and ISC. Maintain leadership calendars and form a comprehensive understanding of operations and schedules and implement processes to proactively ensure deadlines are satisfied. 
  • Work with Enterprise Service Departments and REDD Business Operations to coordinate various levels of support and ensure successful execution of efforts.
  • Build and maintain a tour strategy that best showcases the ISC to visitors, ranging from students, to staff, to VIPs, accommodating a high volume of tours and ensuring minimal impact on ISC staff and work. 
  • In coordination with the REDD Communications Strategist, develop internal and external ISC communications plans. Update website content. Ensure awareness of ISC initiatives utilizing appropriate avenues. 

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

 

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field, relevant professional-level experience may be substituted.
  • Have 3+ years of experience in project management, logistics, and operational coordination with demonstrated proficiency in overseeing projects.
  • Possess excellent communications skills with the ability to synthesize and distill sophisticated technical concepts for broader engagement opportunities and exceptional writing and presentation skills.
  • Have a positive attitude, an innovative mindset, and the ability to work well both independently and on teams.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and significant experience with MS Office to include MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Have the ability thrive in a dynamic environment, prioritizing numerous concurrent tasks, and work occasional extended hours or travel as needed.
  • Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
