About SUNY Broome Community College:

SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York.  The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs.  An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's workforce and non-credit programs.

 


Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for part-time adjunct faculty teaching in the History, Philosophy, & Social Sciences (HPSS) department.

The HPSS department houses general education and specialty courses in history, philosophy, anthropology, economics, political science, sociology, and humanities at the 100 and 200 levels.  Adjunct opportunities may become available to teach on-campus and/or online.

 


Requirements:

A Master's degree or it's equivalent in the discipline is required.  Previous community college teaching experience is preferred.

On-campus teaching assignments require availability during the day on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday and/or Tuesday/Thursday schedule.  Online teaching assignments require previous teaching experience, the ability/willingness to develop an online course according to the SUNY Online Course Quality Review Rubric (OSCQR) and the successful completion of training on the college's learning management system (Brightspace).
