We have one part time group home position available.

Please read through hours and make sure they are of interest before applying! Hours are as follows :

FT Days: Sunday-Wednesday 7am-5pm (GH is near PCC Cascade campus in N Portland)

FT Swing and Overnight: Tuesday: 12p-10p, Wednesday-Friday: 10p-8a

Occasional Overtime offered

We will give you the training and tools you need to get the job done. No prior experience needed, just a willingness to assist others, the ability to understand and follow tasks as directed, time-management, excellent listening skills, strong professional boundaries and having a valid driver's license is preferred.

Our Direct Care staff work one-on-one with clients in a group home setting, helping to provide care and assistance with client identified goals; light housekeeping and cooking; companionship and community inclusion; med administration and hygiene assistance; errands, attending appointments, and more!

Of course, there are a few things you do need to have before we can hire you like a High School Diploma or GED, you must be 18 years or older, you must be able to pass a criminal background check per State of Oregon standards and you must pass a pre-employment drug screen (for illegal drugs in the State of Oregon). Westside Community Focus Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching independent living skills, as well as providing housing, advocacy and other services that primarily assist adults who have developmental disabilities. We strive to promote the confidence and capability of our clients, encouraging the acquisition and maintenance of valuable life skills necessary to live successfully and productively in the community. We have a large Independent Living Program and three Group Homes.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervise client in matter concerning their health and safety. *

Accompany clients in the community via tri-met. *

Attend medical appointments with clients and provide physicians with necessary documentation. *

Monitor medication administration, including documentation of medication errors*.

Prepare meals and assure food is properly stored. *

Maintain accurate performance data (client log or specific data tracking sheets) and assist in completion of ISP goals for client. *

Conduct formal and informal training with residents to help them acquire living skills that can lead to increased independence. *

Submit written Incident Reports of any accidents, injuries or serious problems involving the residents (by the end of your shift). Report any suspected abuse per the abuse reporting procedures as a mandatory reporter. *

Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings. *

Monitor the appearance of client and offer assistance in personal hygiene issues. Document in the Direct Care T-log or on tracking sheet any specific areas of concern regarding hygiene issues. *

Encourage and assist client in the use of their leisure and recreational time. *

Encourage client to keep his/her room orderly and sanitary. *

Help client protect his/her personal property and learn to care for personal property. *

Record significant occurrences or information that should be shared with other staff in the Direct Care T- log or on tracking sheets. *

Help client maintain his/her personal schedule. *

Model and encourage appropriate socialization skills. *

Maintain scheduled work shifts and trainings. *
