Position Summary: The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Boys and Girls Club of Whittier will play a crucial role in the overall management and operational efficiency of the organization. The COO will work closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies that ensure the fulfillment of the Club's mission, enhance operational procedures, and drive sustainable growth. This role demands a visionary leader with exceptional operational, financial, and managerial skills, committed to improving the lives of young people in the community.

KEY ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee daily operations of the Club, ensuring programs and services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and funding requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, making adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and execute the Club’s strategic plan.

· Identify and pursue opportunities for growth and improvement of programs and services.

· Lead initiatives to enhance the Club’s visibility and reputation within the community.

  • Financial Management:

· Assist in the development and management of the annual budget.

· Ensure financial integrity and accountability through robust financial controls and reporting.

· Identify and secure funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships.

  • Team Management:

· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of staff and volunteers.

· Foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture.

· Oversee human resources functions, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

· Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partners, donors, and other stakeholders.

· Represent the Club at community events, meetings, and other functions.

· Advocate for the needs and interests of the Club and its members.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record of successful operational management and strategic planning.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Passion for the mission of the Boys and Girls Club and a commitment to youth development.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
