At the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee, we are committed to helping people in the Southeast & Northwest, GA area affected by seizures and epilepsy. We recognize that a diagnosis of epilepsy is life-changing, and our mission is to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide resources to help build a network of support for those impacted by epilepsy as they navigate their journey.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director (ED) will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast TN (EFSETN). This role requires a dynamic and experienced individual who can drive fundraising efforts, manage relationships with donors, and oversee the Foundation's programs and services. The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization's mission is fulfilled and will lead initiatives to expand and enhance our impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Oversight and Expansion:
- Develop and oversee programs that support individuals living with or affected by epilepsy.
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of all Foundation programs and services.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and innovation.
- Track program KPIs to ensure optimal performance.
2. Fundraising and Development:
- Develop and execute strategies to increase fundraising.
- Write grant proposals and manage the grant-writing process to secure funding.
- Build and manage relationships with current and prospective donors, including corporations and individuals.
- Plan and execute large fundraising events to boost financial support and community engagement.
- Ensure all events are executed within allocated budget and generate the appropriate ROI as outlined by the Board of Directors.
3. Board Relations:
- Present solutions, strategies, and progress updates to the Board of Directors on a minimum of a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with the Board to develop and approve strategies for organizational growth.
- Ensure effective communication between the Foundation’s leadership and Board.
4. Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the hiring, training, and management of Foundation staff members.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Implement performance management processes to ensure staff are aligned with organizational goals.
5. Community Care and Advocacy:
- Demonstrate a deep commitment to the care and well-being of members of the epilepsy community.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals affected by epilepsy.
- Stay informed about developments in epilepsy research and healthcare to better serve the community.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience successfully researching, writing, and receiving grants.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising through corporate and personal donations.
- Strong track record in building and managing relationships with donors.
- Experience providing superior customer service to both internal and external stakeholders and/or beneficiaries.
- Exceptional leadership skills and experience managing staff members, volunteers, and partnerships.
- Genuine passion for helping individuals and demonstrating compassion at all times.
- Experience in leading community and volunteer services
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
- Experience in developing multi - year strategic plans in the nonprofit industry
- Experience planning and executing large-scale fundraising events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
- Experience working in a nonprofit organization
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (Preferred)
