Position: Instructor – Cardiovascular Sonography (Full-Time)

Basic Purpose of Position:
Under the supervision of the Vice President for Teaching and Learning, and in cooperation with the Department
Chair, the Instructor is responsible for assigned teaching duties and other related instructional activities related to
medical and cardiovascular sonography.


Qualifications:

 Associate’s Degree in Allied Health required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.

 Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) with Registered
Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonography (RCS) credential.

 Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered Cardiac Sonographer in a clinical setting required.

 General and/or OB/GYN sonography experience preferred.


Job Description/Duties:

 Plan, organize, and develop each course taught in accordance with acceptable academic standards.

 Responsible for instructing students in various environments including on-campus, online and by webenhanced courses in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures and approved curriculum and
course outlines.

 Maintain up-to-date course outlines and objectives for each course to be taught and assist with the
development of new courses and revisions of existing courses.

 Utilize Learning Management System (LMS) and other educationally-sound technologies to augment courses.

 Serve as a faculty advisor for medical sonography students as assigned and be available for advising of
students on all designated registration days.

 Participate in continuous program of curriculum evaluation.

 Evaluate each student by keeping necessary records to provide the College with an adequate profile of each
student.

 Ensure that the College and students meet clinical agency regulations and policies.

 Maintain regular office hours in accordance with the College’s policies and procedures for full-time faculty.

 Assist in student recruitment efforts of the College.

 Promote retention/persistence by assisting students to develop strategies for success.

 Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Teaching & Learning.


Salary Range: In accordance with the College’s Compensation Plan and commensurate with related experience.
9-Month Salary starting from $43,720.00


Working Schedule: Nine-Month Contract (Fall/Spring Semesters). Summer teaching opportunities may be
available for additional compensation.

Proposed Hiring Date: As Soon As Possible. A six-month probationary period is required by college policy.
