Job Description
The College of Business (COB) at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is now accepting applications for a full-time, fixed term, Senior Instructor II in Business Administration to join our dynamic undergraduate business instructional team. Our business administration degree refines curiosity for life and learning, as well as an awareness of social responsibilities and the ethical implications of business decisions.
The COB currently offers in-person and online baccalaureate degree’s in Business Administration, Marketing, Agricultural Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Economics. Additionally, the COB also offers minors in Business, Marketing, Accounting, Economics and Global Foods Agribusiness.

This is a 9-month, full-time, fixed-term position that is eligible for the full spectrum of comprehensive benefits. There is potential for this position to be renewed to meet continuing program needs.
Responsibilities
- The typical full time, fixed term 9-month teaching contract at EOU includes 45 credits of teaching (appx. 4 courses per quarter).
- Primary teaching responsibilities in undergraduate courses both in-person and online.
- Learning assessment and collaborative work with colleagues, staff and community members.
- The successful candidate will bring education and experience to teach in-person and online lower and upper division courses within the business discipline. Course assignments may include introduction to business, business communications, business ethics & society, business information and data processing, entrepreneurship, data management & analysis w/Excel, principles of finance, principles of management, and other business courses aligned with the candidate’s area(s) of specialization and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold a master’s degree in a business administration (MBA); or M.S. in a related field
- One year of effective in person and/or online collegiate level teaching in business.
- Experience with a Learning Management System (e.g., Canvas).
- Commitment to personal and professional growth of students, including communication competence, written and oral skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold an earned doctorate or hold ABD status in business with a major, concentration, specialization, focus area, emphasis, option, track, field, or stream, etc. in the area(s) of assigned teaching responsibilities; or
- Hold an earned doctorate or ABD status in a non-business-related major but with a sufficient combination of graduate business course work and significant professional business experience in the area(s) of assigned teaching responsibilities.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and engaging students in a broad range of business courses at lower division level in both face-to-face and on-line modalities.
- Experience assessing and reporting student learning outcomes.
- Online teaching professional development, credentials and/or certification (e.g., Quality Matters).

Salary
Senior Instructor II ($58,038 to $72,963). Senior Instructor II salary is determined by weighted years of teaching experience based upon the faculty union contract.
