We're looking for a passionate software engineer to join us on FaceTime, SharePlay, Phone, Voicemail, and more! In this position, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding FaceTime. You will design, implement, maintain, and strengthen robust security features that protect our users. You'll work mostly in Swift and Objective-C on protocols, frameworks, and daemons. You will perform code reviews with a focus on identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, and investigate and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities. This team shapes and drives the FaceTime product, especially FaceTime's private and secure calling experience. We fulfill our duty by caring deeply, living on our software, developing defensible opinions on what to keep / what to change, and having empathy for the countless users in the world who rely on us every day.

- You possess strong software development and architecture design skills with a focus on secure system design.
- You have strong object-oriented programming skills in at least one language like Swift, Objective-C, or C++.
- You have strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- You are self-directed and can solve problems independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- You have strong understanding of secure coding practices, security protocols, and encryption techniques. Familiarity with cryptography standards is a plus (e.g. Secure Frame, Integrated Encryption Scheme, Messaging Layer Security).
- You have familiarity with peer-to-peer or client-server architecture and network protocols.
- You have experience with secure communication protocols, especially in handling untrusted data.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
