Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for overseeing the administrative aspects and student support of financial awards, graduate assistantships, financial aid, and billing for the Masters Programs Office of the Robert H. Smith School of Business. This position oversees all student advising and projects pertaining to private and federal financial aid, financial awards (scholarships and discounts), graduate assistantships, tuition, fees, and other charges, as well as the University billing process as a whole. Additionally, this position is responsible for tracking multiple types of student information (demographic, admissions, award, tuition discounts etc.) and generating regular and ad hoc reports on this information for a variety of stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • A BA/BS degree is required.

Experience:
  • A Minimum of 7 years work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in higher education administration.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of the university community: students, staff, faculty, and senior staff
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work efficiently and produce quality results
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Proven ability to accurately manage student data
  • Strong customer service values; positive and helpful attitude in all professional situations
  • Demonstrated judgement and understanding of confidential requirements
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful and concise manner.
  • Experience balancing the needs of a large customer base in a time-intensive environment.
  • Familiarity with SIS, SAS, Salesforce and UMD campus systems.
  • Familiarity with Graduate School, UMD Financial Services and UMD Financial Aid policies.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to work occasionally as needed during evening and weekends.
  • Ability to travel 5-10%.

Preferences:

Master’s degree; MBA Preferred

Additional Information:

Salary range $80,000-$90,000.
