General Summary

The Aspen Institute’s Community College Excellence Program, the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America’s community colleges, awarded Odessa College its Aspen Prize Rising Star Award in 2017 and 2019, ranking Odessa College among the top five in the nation for improving and advancing student achievement out of 1100 eligible institutions.

The Director for Intuitional Advancement plays a critical role in advancing the college’s mission by assisting the Vice President for Institutional Advancement in all development efforts of Odessa College and the OC Foundation Board. The Director for Institutional Advancement assists in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with business, community, and government leaders throughout the Permian Basin.

Specific Position Duties

Lead the development of a comprehensive and proactive institutional advancement strategy that advances the college’s vision and strategic priorities.
Lead and support resource development activities for the college.
Coordinate fundraising activities for the college and OC Foundation.
Lead the research, writing, and submission of grant applications in collaboration with relevant division leaders.
Lead and support annual giving campaigns benefiting the College and Community.
Establish and cultivate key relationships with business, community, and government leaders.
Provide consistent representation of the college at business, community, and government meetings and events.
Lead special projects and initiatives on behalf of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in education, leadership, business, management, or related field.
Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with business, community, and/or government leaders.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects.
