Essential Job Duties

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to help set up and facilitate a breastfeeding support group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nutrition science and be in the process of pursuing the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential. This role involves organizing group meetings, providing support and guidance to breastfeeding mothers, and fostering a welcoming and informative environment.

Facilitation and Support:
  • Lead and facilitate breastfeeding support group meetings
  • Provide evidence-based information and support to breastfeeding mothers
  • Encourage open discussion and peer support among group members

Organization and Setup:
  • Assist in setting up the physical space for group meetings, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for group sessions

Education and Information:
  • Share educational materials and resources related to breastfeeding and nutrition
  • Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in lactation support

Communication:
  • Maintain clear and open communication with group members, addressing any concerns or questions
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and community organizations to enhance support services

Reporting and Feedback:
  • Gather feedback from participants to continually improve the support group experience
  • Report on group activities and outcomes to supervisors
