Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Donor Relations Coordinator for Maryland Athletics will assist in executing efforts to strengthen donor relationships with the university, and specifically with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. In partnership with the university’s central Donor Relations and Stewardship team and unit development staff, the Coordinator will collaborate in the implementation of a department-wide strategic and impactful donor relations plan that retains, engages, and inspires donors to support Maryland Athletics to their fullest potential. The individual will manage donor recognition, acknowledgments, donor communications for the department, and assist with reporting, and stewardship events that convey the impact of philanthropy on the department.

This position will work closely with department business officers, Terrapin Club colleagues, central donor relations and stewardship, and the university’s foundation office to conduct stewardship across all athletics funds.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:
A minimum of two years experience in Stewardship, Donor Relations, Development, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form
  • Ability to problem solve in a timely fashion
  • Ability to be sensitive to the needs of a wide range of internal and external constituencies
  • Ability to take direction, be flexible, work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize a high volume of work in a fast paced environment, and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite
  • Ability to manage confidential information with appropriate discretion and tact

This position allows for a combination of in-person and telework days as approved by the supervisor. Guidance regarding hybrid work is subject to change at any time to align with operational or business needs.

Salary Range: $54,200 – $67,750.
