Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Innovative Transportation Program Associate (Faculty Assistant); The Eastern Transportation Corridor Coalition (TETC)

Reporting to the Director of Innovation, the individual will support a range of evolving initiatives and projects that are managed through TETC’s Innovation Program. The content areas held within the Innovation Program are subject to change per direction of the Executive Board, but currently include:

Electric and Alternative-Fuel Vehicles – TETC supports member agencies through an Electric Vehicle (EV) Working Group, which includes other alternative fuels. The focus of this group is to support state DOTs in their role of supporting a transition to EVs and other alternative fuel vehicles.

Sustainable Funding – Working as a convener of member agencies, TETC has helped advance and elevate the discussion about the impacts of declining fuel tax revenues at the state and federal levels. This grant-funded work includes real world pilots, impact analysis, education and outreach, and engagement with a range of stakeholders.

Tolling Violation Reciprocity – In a region dense with cross-state travel and tolling facilities, TETC supports member DOTS, DMVs and tolling agencies in working toward establishing reciprocity agreements to facilitate toll collection from out-of-state violators.

The Faculty Assistant will work closely with the Director of Innovation across these program areas through support of working groups and committees, Innovation Program projects and contracts, external coordination/communication, internal coordination, website content development and updates, and strategic planning. Specific tasks will range from administrative (e.g. taking meeting minutes, preparation of presentation slides, outreach to members and tracking of registration at events, working with contract specialists, etc.) to technical and content related as appropriate (e.g. providing review of project deliverables, engaging with members on program efforts, attending and presenting at meetings and conferences).

In addition, the Faculty Assistant will be asked to support TETC’s Executive Director on general Coalition activities. May require travel throughout the TETC region.
