General Summary

The Wrangler Express Center, including the Call Center, is the primary gateway for Odessa College, committed to providing exceptional customer service to students, parents, and the community. As the front door to the college, this department serves as a first-call and first-visit resolution center for all student service-related inquiries. Whether individuals are contacting via phone, email, instant chat, or in person, they receive prompt and guided assistance in areas such as admissions, registration, financial aid, and payment options. In addition to these services, the Wrangler Express Center offers front desk support for the OC Sewell Auto Tech Center and the Wood Health and Sciences Building. This role is essential in creating a welcoming environment, managing inquiries efficiently, and supporting daily operations and documentation processes to ensure a smooth and effective experience for all who engage with the college.

Specific Position Duties

  • Provide comprehensive information to prospective and current students, as well as the public, regarding all areas and services of the college through phone, email, chat, and in-person interactions. 
  • Address student inquiries related to admissions, financial aid, registration, account balances, and holds. 
  • Process and triage email inquiries concerning registration, course drops, adds, withdrawals, and related matters. 
  • Handle the processing of various forms and admissions applications and manage document linking. 
  • Perform cashier duties as needed, including accurately processing payments, reconciling the cash drawer daily, and maintaining a daily balance log. 
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, quickly learn new processes, and maintain attention to detail while multitasking. 
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills and contribute to a collaborative work environment. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. · Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including mornings, evenings, some holidays, and Saturdays.
  • Typing skills, including 10-key, with the ability to produce accurate records and professional-quality materials using a computer keyboard. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet, email, and instant messaging software. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively via telephone, chat, and in person. 
  • Capability to sit and use a computer for extended periods. 
  • Ability to work under stress and manage a high-paced environment, both independently and as a team member, while providing effective, efficient, and professional service to all stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work preferred.
  • Bilingual (verbal and written) a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in activities supporting students and Odessa College stakeholders, including community service.
  • Experience with various forms of technology and software applications.

Reporting Relationship

Position reports to the Assistant Director of Enrollment Services.
