Job Overview

The TSS Network Engineer will be responsible for high-level Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) support, integration, and configuration for all CANES subsystems. The duties will include the planning, documentation and execution of CANES loads and installs. TSS Network Engineer will also configure and provide support for all SANs and Microsoft products hosted virtually. The TSS Network Engineer will also be responsible for all Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) and remediation analysis, reporting, and remediation recommendations.

This role will support the Tactical Networks (TACNET) Capabilities Based In-Service Engineering Agent (CB-ISEA). TACNET CB-ISEA supports the sustainment and modernization of Automated Digital Network System (ADNS), Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS), Integration Shipboard Networking System (ISNS), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Networks as well as integration and support of additional Program of Record and Non-Program or Record systems.

Salary Range: $90-$135K

Work Model: Onsite/Office-Based


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Provide break/fix Information Technology support in a fast paced, high-energy environment.
  • Analyze issues in an Enterprise LAN shipboard and shore environments to determine the best course of action for resolution.
  • Provide root cause analysis and recommending permanent configuration changes when necessary.
  • Work in cooperation with external partners, including consultants, agencies, and vendors, to troubleshoot intra-system issues, and to assist with system integration design solutions.
  • Provide server break-fix and provide remote support for server, network, desktop, and peripheral equipment.
  • Interface and direct US Navy Customers regarding the proper approach to maintaining US Navy Afloat networks and the associated network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
  • Attend and participate in technical meetings, report on technical progress, prepare briefs, and provide presentations.
  • Participate in integrated product teams and engineering/design reviews.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have a Secret clearance or higher.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree: or five (5) years of experience and a high school diploma may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Must be able to become IAT II certified within 6 months of higher date. ITA II certification includes a minimum of one additional certification (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, VCP).
  • Experience with ISNS or CANES or SCI or CENTRIXS or ADNS and all associated installed applications.
  • Experience with Cisco switches and routers.
  • Experience with Window Server 2008/2008R2//2012/2012 R2.
  • Up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS travel
  • Must hold valid U.S. passport.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
