This key leadership role oversees hospice operations across a region. This position contributes to Abode's success by ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with legal and regulatory compliance standards. This individual will support the Operations team by serving as a liaison between regional management and corporate support functions and acting as an advocate to improve the region's overall operations. S/he will be part of a high-performing team focused on providing the leadership, strategy, and vision necessary to optimize operational efficiency, ensure financial strength, and solidify the highest quality care in a cost-effective manner.
- Conduct regularly scheduled meetings and site visits with Executive Directors and other regional/agency leaders to review and evaluate overall operations, clinical processes, financial performance, compliance and patient/family survey scores, business development opportunities, and possible adverse trends or concerns
- Review weekly metrics, productivity, and census reports to assist with solutions to reverse any negative trends and develop positive trending results
- Work with under-performing agencies to develop strategies and plans to improve performance
- Develop Executive Directors and other regional/agency leaders through coaching, mentoring, and formal/on the job training and other opportunities
- Manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational policies and procedures for the region
- Identify opportunities for collaboration across the region
- Support branches by serving as Acting Executive Director when needed
- Oversee budget and budget forecast for region, creating plans to address any budget variances
- Prepare reports and analyses to update leadership on regional operations status, issues, and achievements
- Provide input, tools, and resources to Executive Directors and other regional/agency leaders on new hire onboarding, training, and skills development programs for clinicians
- Partner with Human Resources on all employee decisions for the region, including, but not limited to retention and staffing strategies, and employee relations issues as needed
Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management/Administration, Nursing or a related medical field, or an Associate Degree of Nursing and equivalent experience
- Three to five years' experience in multi-site, multi-state or large regional leadership of hospice and/or home health operations
- Experience successfully managing a multi-million-dollar budget
- Demonstrated ability to identify root cause of issues, then develop and execute a plan to achieve desired result
- Demonstrated ability to help guide underperforming teams or business segments back to desired track
