Position Summary:

The Humane Society of Greater Miami is seeking an experienced and compassionate Human Resources Manager to join our dedicated team. The HR Manager will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. This position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about animal welfare and committed to fostering a positive and productive work environment. The role also requires the ability to work weekends occasionally for special fundraising events or in response to disasters.

General Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing:

• Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, reference checking, and onboarding.

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.

Employee Relations:

• Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on HR-related matters.

  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

Performance Management:

• Implement and manage performance appraisal systems.

  • Provide guidance to supervisors on performance improvement plans and employee development.
  • Facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and engagement.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain up-to-date employee records.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

HR Administration:

• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and documentation.

• Prepare and analyze HR reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Manage HR budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Review the work product of the organization’s PEO.

Special Events and Disaster Response:

 Ability to work weekends occasionally for special fundraising events or in response to disasters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in a non-profit or animal welfare organization.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Experience with best practices in all areas of Human Resources.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Passion for animal welfare and alignment with the mission of The Humane Society of Greater Miami.

Pay: $79,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
