Job Description

Under general supervision, provides administrative support to the UC San Diego Health Eating Disorders Center. Acts as primary resource to answer phones, screen and greet patients and visitors. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Generating and maintaining databases used in the functioning of the clinic. Creating and maintaining current patient information in Epic. Maintaining provider schedules. Assisting in coordinating purchases and monitoring office supplies, sorting/distributing mail & faxes. Assisting the Insurance team with obtaining proper documentation and collection of co-pays. Process release of information requests. Utilizing a thorough knowledge of this organization, independently respond to a variety of requests and disseminate information through excellent interpersonal communications skills, telephone and electronic communications. Initiates and composes correspondence and reports using a variety of protocols. Troubleshoots problems; handles highly confidential matters and materials. Function independently, exercising professional judgment, and maintaining confidential information. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Three (3) years of experience performing administrative duties in a professional environment.
- Proficient in the following: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams and Epic.
- Superb customer service presence.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, skilled on the phone, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to multitask, and to work independently between multiple systems.
- Skilled with cash handling.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Healthcare experience.
- Previous front desk, registration and appointment scheduling.
- Advanced knowledge of UC policies and UC San Diego Health processes.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $40,700 - $85,295 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $19.49 - $40.85
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
