A Material Coordinator / Expeditor works within the Procurement and Supply function to maximize the value that is delivered by providing support across the material lifecycle from planning stages through to execution and closeout.
- Once the materials are confirmed the Material Coordinator will liaise with the Project, Construction and Supply teams to ensure materials are scheduled for delivery to meet the construction program.
- At the end of the project, the Material Coordinator / Expeditor will facilitate the return to the inventory warehouse and or write off (damaged or materials that cannot be returned) and billed to the project.
- The Material Coordinator / Expeditor role requires cross functional coordination, analytical, communication and strong administrative skills.
- The Material Coordinator / Expeditor will also utilize a number of different systems / software including SAP, Procore, P6 as well as the standard Microsoft suite.
- One of the key features of the Material Coordinator / Expeditor role is to act as early warning oversight of potential risks and highlight where materials may be a risk to a project, and help facilitate the appropriate risk mitigation.
- The Material Coordinator / Expeditor will assist in the construction of standardized reporting and then use the reporting tools to maintain effective and efficient records of the project activity.
- Builds reports as needed for their internal stakeholders and external clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma at a minimum, preferred with a bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Computer Information Systems, Supply Chain, or other related field.
- 2-5+ years of directly relevant experience, preferably related to either materials or asset management within a utility, construction company or similar operation.
- Demonstrated customer service capabilities.
- Problem solving, analytical, and research abilities.
- Persuasive communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) with willingness to highlight risks and issues as they arise.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Internet applications.

Pay rate for this position is $40.00 - $55.00. The starting pay rate will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
