The teaching load is twelve credits per academic semester, typically three 4-credit courses per semester. Among the responsibilities of the successful candidate are the following: (1) optimize learning for students having a range of abilities through efforts within and outside of the classroom; (2) through mentoring, help CS majors develop into exemplary professionals; (3) develop a scholarly agenda which may include but is not confined to the following: conducts research in areas of interest, including interdisciplinary research that can be applied to the CS program; publishes in peer-reviewed arenas; participates in academic conferences; mentors CS majors involved in undergraduate research; and (4) serve the department and the college on committees or through other activities that benefit the college community. As part of their regular teaching responsibilities at this public liberal arts college, faculty members may teach courses in the major and the Integrative Studies Program (General Education).
