Class Description
The purpose of this class is to serve as a point of contact for students requesting career services.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in Psychology, Education or related field required. Three (3) years’ experience in Career Counseling, Student Personnel Services, Advising/Counseling or Student Development required. Ability to work night and weekends is required.
Positions are located on the following campuses:
Dundalk
Essex
Owings MillsClass Specific Essential Duties
- Provide one-on-one career counseling to a diverse student population.
- Provide individual and group instruction to students on resume preparation, interviewing techniques and job search strategies.
- Administer and interpret career assessments.
- Regularly use Focus2 and Career Coach in your work with students and others.
- Assist students with career decision-making and selecting a major/program of study.
- Design and deliver career related workshops and classroom presentations.
- Incorporate social media and technology in marketing of career services and events.
- Develop and implement career and job networking opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on planning and execution of events such as career fairs, job fairs, Academic Pathways and other relevant college events.
- Stay current on career services trends and labor market information; maintain up to date career information and resources.
- Incorporate Skype for Business, TEAMS and other online/virtual career service delivery methods.
- Utilize College Central for information on Student Employment opportunities and information.
