Full job description

  • Partners with departmental and senior leadership to assist with attaining business goals and objectives and provide HR insights to business solutions and challenges while improving work relationships, morale, and increase retention.
  • Effectively collaborates with HR colleagues to effectively assess and address recruiting & retention, compliance, compensation & benefits, HRIS & analytics, employee / labor relations & performance management, training & development
  • Assists with all aspects of the staffing function for Children’s Hospital. This includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, selecting, and hiring of internal/external candidates.
  • Completes all process requirements related to the hiring/transfer of applicants for employment.
  • Extends job offers in a timely manner in order to meet staffing needs of organization, schedules and monitors results of pre-employment screenings.
  • Keeps hiring manager and Employment Director informed of any potential delays with start date.
  • Notifies candidates not selected for job offer in a timely manner.
  • Internal candidates are notified within 1-2 days of offer accepted and external candidates within 3-5 days of offer accepted.
  • Investigates and resolves escalated complaints including discrimination, harassment, violence in the workplace, and hostile work environment by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, and then recommends a course of action based on gathered information.
  • Supports and assists management with progressive discipline functions.
  • Analyzes and reports employee exit interview and turnover information.
  • Collaborates with management on opportunities for improvement.
  • Responds to Department of Labor unemployment claims and/or EEOC claims as needed.
  • Submits documentation and responds to inquiries in a complete and timely manner.
  • Provides bridge to HR resources, with the ability to provide informed recommendations based on HR policies, practices, case law and best practices.
  • Consults with HR Centers of Excellence on program, policy and practice management Partners with senior leadership to assist with attaining business goals and objectives and provide HR insights to business solutions and challenges.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with respective business units and provides HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Advises employees and managers on proper HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Assists Director of Employment & Employee Relations with changes to policies, practices, and procedures as appropriate.
  • Monitors the status of pre-employment screenings including background checks, drug screens, and educational verifications.
  • Partners with Employee Health and Wellness regarding the appropriate medical clearances necessary for the job.
  • Serves as backup to the Employment Manager for monthly OIG and other sanction screenings.
  • Makes hiring/transfer salary determinations in collaboration with Compensation team.
