Hiring: Training Manager

Location: Abraxas Academy, 1000 Academy Dr., Morgantown, PA 19543

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Training Manager to join our team at Abraxas Academy. The Training Manager will be responsible for new hire training and overseeing all aspects of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) program, ensuring the successful onboarding and development of new employees and annual trainings required of all staff.

Training Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and schedule new staff member orientation. Develop and implement comprehensive on-the-job training programs for new employees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and create training materials. Familiarity with compliance requirements related to training and development.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective training modules using various instructional methods, including classroom training, hands-on activities, and e-learning platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to meet organizational needs and improve employee performance.
  • Provide regular reports on training progress, including participant feedback and training evaluation results.
  • Collaborate with Management and HR and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting diversity and equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Maintain training files for regulatory compliance purposes.

  • Develop and maintain training curriculum to include policies and procedures, professional knowledge and mandated training.

  • Compile data and prepare statistical reports.

  • Supports and promotes the Sanctuary Model and it's commitments

Training Manager, Minimum Requirements:

Education - Bachelor's degree and three (3) years related experience working with children or one (1) year experience working with at risk children and three (3) years' experience working in a training capacity; bachelor's degree preferred.

Certified as an American Heart Association Trainer and SCM trainer.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, include days, evenings and weekends in order to work with all staff.

Ability to compose a variety correspondence such as memorandums, letters, agendas, summaries, etc. in a clear and concise manner. May be required to proofread the work of others and suggest changes when necessary.

Ability to speak clearly when interacting with others in person or while on the telephone. Must be able to ask questions when assignments are unclear or ambiguous. Must be able to communicate with officials, clients and the general public.

Ability to complete assignments accurately and within the given deadlines. Must be able to plan accordingly when deadlines of current projects change.

Ability to work independently and in group settings. Must be willing to lead the work of others on occasion.

Other Qualifications:

At least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific state & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).

Valid driver's license from employees' state of residence. Valid registered vehicle insurance.
