This is a full-time day shift Monday to Friday position, with rotating Tuesday to Saturday work weeks (and rotating 3-day weekends). Located in Torrey Pines.

Our cytology team is key in evaluating patient samples from the five Scripps hospitals to determine next steps in treatment and care. Cytotechnologists screen non-gyn and gyn samples, perform adequacy for thyroid and staging EBUS procedures and work closely with Scripps pathologists. This position encompasses a full hospital experience with close interaction with hospital procedures and staff.
Responsibilities include:
* Microscopic examination of Hologic Imaged gynecologic samples.
* Examination of non-gynecologic samples in a hospital setting.
* Perform adequacy for thyroid and staging EBUS procedures.
* Attend and assist pathologists with procedures as needed.
* Demonstrate behaviors that support organizational goals of cost-effective, high quality patient care services through leadership, professional and technical competence utilizing the appropriate resources.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
* Successful completion of a 12 month CAHEA accredited cytotechnology program.
* Accurately screens GYN and Non-Gyn samples.
Required Certification/Registration:
* California license as a Cytotechnologist.
* Possession of Specialist certification from ASCP, NCA, or other accredited agency.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
* Bachelors degree in life science from an accredited college preferred or equivalent experience.
