Hourly Associate, Nutrition Hub

Job Description

The Nutrition Hub Associate provides administrative and clerical support of a complex and diverse nature for Nutrition Hub and the Caroline Huber Holistic Wellness Center.

Responsibilities

  • Support students navigate the resources of the Nutrition by checking for voucher eligibility.
  • Coordinate the Smooth Function of the Voucher System. Communicate with students and the cafeteria about vouchers.
  • Help students book appointments with the SNAP onsite social worker, notifying students of local food pantries, and the resources of the Wellness Center - Grab and Go meals, weekly food bags.
  • Support in distributing weekly grocery bags from Fulfill and packaging the fresh, refrigerated goods when the client arrives.
  • Serve as be the recordkeeper of the data for vouchers and communicate with Fulfill about weekly bags and dietary accommodations of patrons.
  • Interface with clients of the Nutrition Hub.
  • Listen with dignity to clients’ needs and help them modify their weekly services as needed.
  • Keep record of the number of vouchers used by communicating with the cafeteria, students and Wellness Center Staff Distribute weekly grocery bags.
  • Support with loading and unloading Fulfill drop-offs.
  • Attend the Monthly Mini-Resource Fair and other tabling events to alert students to the resources of the Nutrition Hub.

Qualifications

Education:  

 

  • Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

 

Experience:  

 

  • Two years of related experience, to include previous experience in customer service, preferably in a retail or hospitality setting.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

 

  • Basic knowledge of nutrition principles and healthy eating habits preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to research information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse student population.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems.
  • Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
