This position will be responsible for all activities of the CE Health Careers department, including program promotion, curriculum oversight, supervision of instructional and clerical staff, student support, community relationships, budget preparation, data analysis, and strategic planning. Focus will be on coordinating distribution of all awards/certificates for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) earned by students for successful completion of CE Health Careers offerings. Position will ensure activity compliance with College, THECB and regulatory agencies.
Specific Position Duties
- Manage and direct the planning, organization, and administration of all Continuing Education Health Careers programs, courses, conferences, and special events.
- Supervise daily activities of CE Health Careers instructional and administrative personnel.
- Provide instructor support and adequate classroom environment for CE Health Careers offerings.
- Evaluate job performance and professional development activities.
- Responsible for hiring process and selection, and orientation of new positions as per the College process.
- Coordinate the development and preparation of marketing materials website updates.
- Responsible for understanding, supporting, dissemination of and compliance with the College policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance and status with program regulatory agencies and CEU provider agencies.
- Oversee all aspects of student enrollment: registration, payments, scholarships, rosters, grade sheets, evaluations.
- Maintain and generate reports of department activity, revenue, and budget status .
- Develop and maintain clinical partnerships within the region.
- Oversight of Nurse Aide Training Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP).
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Workforce Continuing Education (WFCE), health sciences dual credit, other associated departments of the College, and community partners.
- Participate in Advisory Committees to assist with planning and development of training initiatives.
- Promote Odessa College’s mission and strategic plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences Dual Credit & Continuing Education Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or health-related field.
- Minimum of five years of related work experience in education or health care setting.
- Experience developing and managing operational budgets.
- Ability to manage and direct workflow of subordinates.
- Public relations and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals to meet goals and objectives of the department, College administration, and the community.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of computer operating systems and various software applications including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Odessa College’s insurance policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education or healthcare.
- Possess a current license to practice in a healthcare occupation by a state or nationally recognized licensing agency.
- Instructional experience in classroom setting.
- Experience developing curriculum.
- Experience planning, coordinating, and hosting major event or conference.
Work Hours
Typically Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Summer hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, closed Fridays. Numerous after-hours and weekend functions are required of the position.Posting Number
