Job Overview

The CECH School of Criminal Justice is seeking to hire a Financial Administrator 1 to contribute to the day-to-day administration of the School’s business operations. This person will primarily support the School of CJ’s Business Manager with pre- and post-award processes. This person will also assist with the general financial operations of the School.

 

This position offers a hybrid work schedule for those with a residence in OH, IN, or KY. Residence must be within the Cincinnati tri-state area within a reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have the ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and monitor administrative duties.
  • Assist in the development of unit policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the financial status of unit programs and other budget allocations.
  • Implement policies to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports.
  • May coordinate personnel functions for an operating unit at less than 25% of duties.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
  • Assist faculty and research staff with the processing of financial transactions for federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and any other external funding sources.
  • Advise faculty and research staff with the financial management of sponsored projects to fulfill project-related expenditure goals and objectives.
  • Work directly and collaboratively with the various offices of the university to fulfill all expenditure/compliance requirements and to resolve complex issues that arise during the duration of a sponsored award.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree must be in accounting or related field.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Related finance or accounting experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience in grant proposal submissions.
  • Experience in post award management.
  • Experience preparing financial reports.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external partners.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
