Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the administrative and functional aspects of on-site security at all SCC sites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Oversee Security Officers and other security contractors assigned to one or more posts at each site, ensuring all post orders are followed, identified rounds are completed and required reports are filed. Notify the proper authorities in emergency situations.
  • Ensure all security policies are being followed by the contractors.
  • Ensure security officers and other company personnel are properly trained in policies and SOPs as required.
  • Assist in the submission of payroll and personnel information for contractors to the outside vendor as designated.
  • Ensure the Security Operations Center (SOC) alarms, video surveillance, communications devices and other pertinent security equipment is adequate and functional and the center is always appropriately staffed.
  • Review security procedures as required.
  • Inspect posts as scheduled and meet with contractors to outline tasks and responsibilities.
  • Meet with client representatives as scheduled or as needed to provide assurance that all security requirements are being met and to provide quality customer service.
  • When needed, perform the duties of a Security Officer in accord with post orders and company policy.
  • Oversee compliance of site electronic and key access control and CCTV systems.
  • Escort contractors / visitors as required (paper shredding, Pest Control, etc.).
  • Receive and distribute mail and packages. Prepare outgoing mail and Fed-Ex shipments (labels and tracking as needed).
  • Support Emergency Response activities (Evacuation, fire alarms, fire watching, etc.).
  • Support shutdown activities (inspections, fire watcher, etc.).
  • Document and issue badge and hard keys.
  • Monitor Security Officer performance, attendance and document for use in evaluations and day to day shift operations.
  • Conduct investigations for the sites.
  • Support FCC licenses for radio communications.
  • Ensure all members of the Security team maintain awareness of the typical hazards of the workplace as well as the special hazards that may be encountered at Pacira, such as biohazards, radiation, chemicals, etc. Follow established procedures for dealing with such potential hazards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibility.
Interaction:
The incumbent works closely with all departments.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years of related experience required
  • Knowledge of access control, CCTV, and alarm systems required
  • First Aid/AED/CPR certification and guard card issued by BSIS required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of security operations with an emphasis on patrol, inspection and response services, security and safety devices and controls
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures
  • Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance
  • Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel applications is required
  • Ability to learn quickly and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
  • Ability to track and maintain schedule assignments
  • Courteous telephone manner
  • Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports
  • Ability to maintain composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
  • Must have strong customer service, multitasking and organizational skills

Depending upon assignment, may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop. Close vision and the need to focus on computer screen, use of hands, fingers, and wrist to type on keyboard and manipulate mouse. Will need to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

The base pay range for this role in California is $85,000 per year to $117,000 per year. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
