Montgomery College, Gaithersburg Business Training Center (GBTC), has an immediate need for a Full-time Program Coordinator. Information Technology Institute (ITI) offers non-credit courses designed to help students launch or advance careers in IT through hands-on, career-focused training delivered by industry professionals. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This is a Non-Bargaining, Non-exempt, Grade 23 position. Non-exempt positions are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist Program Manager with class schedules each term arranges dates, times, and room reservations, and coordinates instructional equipment and materials.
- Assist students with IT related career pathways, selecting IT courses and answering their inquiries.
- Assists with outreach and marketing activities, including creating promotional materials, proofreading catalog content, and updating website and social media platforms.
- Maintains comprehensive records, tracks program outcomes, and prepares reports for department review.
- Distributes certificates of completion, process grades, and ensure the accuracy of all program documentation.
- Assists with the processing and orientation of new faculty, maintaining faculty information database, and assisting with the organization of instructional meeting for ITI faculty and communication with faculty on a variety of administrative issues.
- Coordinates the program development and implementation by organizing training sessions, workshops, and presentations and assisting with new program initiatives. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to recommend and implement changes resulting from the complexity of operating the program.
- Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of workforce development programs, best practices and emerging trends, as well as requirements for individual courses and/or program criteria.
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in education, educational technology, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Three years of experience in a learning institution/environment, working with clients, instructors, and/or students.
- Two years of experience in an administrative assistant or customer service role with significant interaction with the public by phone, e-mail, and face-to-face.
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- IT background and/or experience with coordinating IT training.
Hiring Range: $25.18 - $32.73 hourly. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $40.28.
