Position Summary

Fordham University’s Marketing Videographer and Photographer creates engaging video content that supports the university’s strategic enrollment and fundraising goals as well as key stakeholders such as schools and departments within the university. Reporting to the Senior Director of Creative Services, the person in this position will be part of a talented in-house creative team who specializes in strategic problem solving and storytelling across media platforms.

The ideal candidate is a creative, fast-moving, flexible individual with a good eye who can tell the Fordham story through both moving and still images for multiple

  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with clients, staff and students.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse professionals in a positive, collegial manner.
  • Ability to tell stories visually and create compelling and inspiring narratives.
  • Proficient in telling a cohesive story and develop concepts that support the university and departmental strategic goals.
  • Physical ability to move and hold recording equip­ment for long periods.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere CC, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Motion graphics technology.
  • Knowledge of ADA compliant regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic organizational web tools: Google Drive (preferable), email managers, video conference programs, and calendars.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of pre- production/planning, storyboarding, studio and field production, lighting/grip, audio engineering, video composition, and video/image compression for multiple delivery platforms.
  • Knowledge of post-production tech­niques.
  • Expert knowledge in lighting especially for indoor shoots, sound recording, and editing.
  • Experience capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, closed captioning, adding music/voice over, media management and archiving project media, and posting to YouTube and other social platforms.
  • Up to date with new industry technological advances, software and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of the latest trends and best practices in successful and measurable audience engagement through multimedia projects.
  • Administrative and project management skills.
  • A strong eye for detail and ability to work autonomously as well as a team member.
  • Willingness to learn and champion Fordham’s values, mission and identity.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media arts, multimedia production, photography, or related field.
  • Animation skills.

 

Minimum Starting Salary: $70,000

Maximum Starting Salary: $80,000

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
