Job Summary:
The Flushing Christian Outreach Center is an Interdenominational faith based, Non-Profit organization seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for our Clothing location. Our organization is made up of a dedicated team of approximately 50 passionate volunteers.

Our Mission is to respond to the needs of the whole person; physical, spiritual and emotional by providing food, clothing and connections to local existing ministries and available resources through a centralized volunteer-based center.

Our vision is to respond to the needs of the whole person with the goal of inviting them into a relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

You will be joining an organization with a culture driven by respect and dignity of all.

Duties:
- Work closely with the Program Director to fully understand and instill the FCOC culture at the Clothing location, most importantly a culture built around dignity and respect at all levels

-Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures

-Performs administrative tasks utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher

-Orientates and trains new volunteers
- Schedules volunteers assuring all shifts are covered

-Provides oversight and guidance to volunteer teams while assuring that daily processes are carried out consistently between all shifts, to optimize operating efficiencies
- Monitors clothing donations to assure that we are receiving and/or requesting clothing appropriate for all ages of guests

- Monitors and maintains appropriate levels of clothing, purging as necessary
- Maintains a clean and organized environment
- Handles guest inquiries, complaints, and issues with dignity and respect in a timely manner

-Positively represents Flushing Christian Outreach Center and the clothing facility to everyone entering the building including guests, volunteers and donors

Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and provide solutions by listening, motivating and energizing the volunteer base
-Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize tasks

-Ability to lead by example in a compassionate caring manner

- Proven ability to train, energize and motivate teams
-Must have a proven track record of building teams

-High moral and ethical characteristics
