Production Maintenance Technician needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client located in San Diego, CA.

This position will be for a major biotech company and is suitable for someone with a high school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance related courses is preferred.

Shift: Monday - Friday, flex start time between 6 am - 8 am, but overtime can often be required due to unexpected maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
• Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
• Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
• Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains electronic records and documentation to comply with industry requirements.

• 1+ years of related work experience
• High school graduate or GED required, technical school training in maintenance related courses are preferred
• Ability to understand and interpret design documents, manufacturer s specifications and written operational procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/tenant/co-worker relations.
• Be able to take direction and follow instructions.
• Must be safety conscious.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
• Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing of stairs and ladders, lifting/carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics.
• Willingness to work overtime on special projects as required.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
• Have working knowledge of tools and their proper use.
