A USDA-funded postdoctoral research associate position is available for 2.5 years in the Food Perception and Liking Laboratory (link) at the Ohio State University under the direction of Dr. Christopher T. Simons. The successful candidate will have a PhD in sensory science or behavioral psychology with practical experience conducting human subjects research. The candidate will be responsible for the design, execution, and evaluation of experiments related to the use of immersive technologies in sensory and consumer testing. Activities include study design, panelist recruitment, test execution, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. The candidate will be expected to prepare manuscripts and present findings at scientific meetings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to present scientific findings concisely and succinctly, are required.

 

Required Experience:

PhD in Sensory Science or Behavioral Psychology. Strong background in sensory evaluation techniques and consumer research methodologies; Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation, including ANOVA, cluster analysis, and principal components analysis. Experience with manuscript preparation and publication; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
