Occupational Summary
Craven Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic level courses in the Workforce Development Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Instructor is responsible for providing instruction and performing related activities for the Workforce Development Department EMS Programs. Works with Coordinator and/or Program Director on classroom related issues to include inventory, equipment, purchase orders and daily operational tasks. The percentage of time spent teaching and handling classroom administration tasks may shift slightly depending on class scheduling during the term. This job requires flexible hours; days, nights and possibly weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
Valid North Carolina certification at the level of instruction is required and must maintain throughout tenure with a minimum 3 years of experience at the EMT level.
North Carolina Level I EMS Instructor certification or higher required (or within one year from date of employment).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff
Working knowledge of MS Office products
Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom
