Position Overview
The Department of Health Sciences & Nursing at Rider University seeks adjunct instructors in the Health Sciences for the Spring semester beginning January 27, 2025. Positions are available to teach lecture and laboratory components of a Kinesiology (Biomechanics, or a closely related discipline) course as well as an Introduction to Epidemiology course (lectures only).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in a related field and/or relevant experience in this subject area.
- Prospective candidates must have demonstrated experience teaching diverse student populations and demonstrated expertise in their field of study.
- The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the use of student focused pedagogy in order to engage students in the learning process.
- For Kinesiology/Biomechanics: Ability to teach lectures on TTh 9:45 – 11:15 AM and a laboratory on Th 1:10 – 4:10 PM.
- For Introduction to Epidemiology: Ability to teach Wed 630-9:30PM.
- Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., Sc.D., Dr.P.H.)
- Demonstrated previous experience designing, teaching, and implementing in-person courses in their area of study.
