Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, Germantown, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campuses are seeking Full-Time Business Management Faculty members to fill positions starting in August 2026. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who exhibit a high degree of professionalism, a solid commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate engagingly. 

The faculty members will teach Business and Management courses. Montgomery College provides an excellent opportunity to teach in a large, urban community college setting. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.

The successful candidate will not only appreciate teaching in a multicultural environment but will also be valued for their diversity appreciation. They will welcome the opportunity to work with students with diverse learning abilities. Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising, professional inquiry, committee work, and utilizing instructional technology. Most of our courses use open educational resources (OERs) to yield cost savings for the students and the most current content for faculty. Incoming faculty will utilize OERs in alignment with the other faculty in the discipline.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended formats during days, evenings, and weekends. Montgomery College has three campuses and instructs courses at area high schools and centers. Faculty may be assigned to any of these campuses, centers, or area high schools and/or teach online.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced business courses; topics may include Introduction to Business, Management, Personal Finance, Business Statistics, and like courses.

  • Teaching 30 semester hours per academic year. Preparing course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts; evaluating and grading students' exams, assignments, and papers.

  • Teaching various courses, including day, night, early morning, weekend, and accelerated sections, and online.  Opportunities may exist for teaching summer classes.

  • Teaching at any of the three physical campuses (Rockville, Germantown, Takoma Park/Silver Spring), online, and at area high schools and centers.

  • Applying culturally relevant pedagogies to the teaching and learning process.

  • Engaging students in their learning through active collaborative learning approaches.

  • Willingness to develop free-of-cost course materials for students using Open Educational Resources.

  • Incorporating an educational enterprise platform (Blackboard) and other relevant technology into instruction, including inexpensive or no-cost resources in developing and delivering instruction.

  • Meet with students outside of class to assist them with being successful college students.

  • Advising students about program curriculum, transfer options to four-year institutions, and professional/career opportunities.

  • Serve on or lead department, discipline, campus, and college committees.

  • Maintaining an active professional development program and participating in professional organizations and activities.

  • Participating in textbook adoption with persistence toward providing low-cost options for students.

  • Engaging in expanding and implementing assessments for courses, programs, and learning outcomes to increase student success.

  • Developing, updating, and teaching business analytics and/or supply chain management as additions to existing or new courses and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration or related field

  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time equivalent teaching experience at the college level (associate, bachelor, or masters-level teaching).

  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a business environment.

  • Faculty members are expected to have access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside of the work location (i.e., office, classroom, college campus). Montgomery College (MC) provides an MC e-mail account and access to the learning platform, password-protected faculty sections of the website, college listservs, and other faculty communications tools

  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in a business-related area.

  • Three (3) years of full-time equivalent teaching experience at the college level (associate, bachelor, or masters-level teaching)

  • Five (5) years of combined professional/industry experience in business, analytics, and or logistics

  • Professional knowledge of data, statistics, and computer science.

  • Professional experience in data modeling/manipulation and logistics analysis  

  • Demonstrated experience using various teaching modalities (seat-based, blended/hybrid, and online).

  • Familiarity with teaching technologies (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas).

  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and equitable teaching practices and support of a diverse student population.

  • Experience supporting students to overcome barriers to academic success.

Hiring Range: $62,319 to $93,020

  • Participation in a retirement plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position). If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earnings restrictions, per state law.
