We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Program Manager to support pioneering initiatives that will enhance the Navy's strategic and operational capabilities, utilizing APL’s technical expertise to deliver impactful analysis.

 

As an Assistant Program Manager, you will...

  • Assist the Navy Studies Program Manager in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with Navy leadership, contributing to high-impact decision-making and future naval innovations.
  • Support the execution of innovative studies to advance naval warfare tactics, inform acquisition needs, and ensure the Navy maintains its dominance as a maritime force.
  • Oversee aspects of cost, schedule, and performance management for various projects, ensuring accurate planning and resource management.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or national security, with at least five years of experience in defense operations, analysis, systems engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrate experience working with the Navy, showcasing expertise in addressing specific analytical requirements and enhancing operational effectiveness.
  • Have a history of developing sponsor relationships and securing funding.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.


Minimum Rate

$90,000 Annually

Maximum Rate

$220,000 Annually
