Parker CSS is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Student to join our design and development team for Summer 2025. Technical design activities will focus on mechanical design of components, assemblies and learning about materials used in the sealing industry.

Responsibilities:

You will contribute to the documentation in support of project Design History Files including, but not limited to:

  • 3-D Modeling knowledge / skill; Inventor and / or Solid Works Software preferred
  • Supporting product design engineers with new and existing seal designs including layout and analysis
  • Potentially participate in root cause failure analysis
  • Interface effectively with both internal and external customers
  • Perform rubber testing procedures for the evaluation of various elastomers
  • Become educated on manufacturing methods and capabilities
  • Gain experience in aspects of the product design & development process - Marketing, Quality, Regulatory Requirements, Testing, etc.

Education:

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Incoming Junior or Senior Standing
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Experience:

  • 0-2 years of previous industry work experience
  • 3-D CAD modeling experience - preferably Solid Works and / or Inventor
  • Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, company policies and procedure manuals

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for extended periods of time.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $19.2 hourly to 24.6 hourly.
