IT Project Senior Manager

Job Description

Job Summary

The Project Manager will use agile project management practices to ensure that projects are defined, tracked, communicated and implemented in a consistent and effective manner, ensuring the needs of Revenue Cycle and the clinicians and patients we serve are met with the highest rate of return, value and satisfaction.

Under general direction, the Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects:

Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities. Primary activities and decision-making authority are predominantly performed independently affecting business operations to a substantial degree. 

This role also requires the individual to liaison on process and documentation analysis; to proactively plan and manage dynamics related to implementation of the institution?s many applications - clinical, revenue cycle and business. Duties would include coordinating logistics and creating and managing documentation for multiple standing committees. These responsibilities will result in efficient, standardized, appropriate process changes that will be integrated and communicated to leaders and groups.

Modes of Work

Mobile/Remote - the work requirements allow for the majority or all the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirement.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days.  The review and selection process may begin as early as the eighth day after posting. This opening may be removed from posting boards and filled anytime after the minimum posting period has ended.
