Senior Client Accountant

Job Description Summary

This is a cross-functional role working closely with both the property management and accounting team and is responsible for all phases of accounting, including advanced financial reporting analysis, budget preparation, CAM reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance for a large portfolio.

Job Description

Essential Job Duties:

* Perform Full Cycle Accounting to include analysis of accounts or accounting transactions. Prepare and assist with cash management, AP and AR, accruals, and reconciliations. Prioritize and maintain theorganization of a high-volume workload.

* Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages timely and accurately in accordance with internal controls and client requirements; Including prioritizing and maintaining high volume workload and productivity standards.

* Assist in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, as well as quarterly reforecasts.

* Oversee the completion of CAM reconciliations, and ensure asmooth recovery process.

* Establish and ensure appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions and reporting are being implemented correctly; Review team members' financial reports to ensure quality, timeliness, audit compliance and assess competencies.

* Prepare and review fixed asset ledgers to ensure items are properly capitalized and depreciated based on owner requirements; Calculate and record straight-line rent based on client preferences.

* Research, analyze and effectively communicate complex accounting issues and escalate appropriately. Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients and property management in a timely manner.

* Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company and bring inconsistencies, problems and recommendations to the attention of management.

* Comply and assist with internal and external audits by providing appropriate documentation and information as requested; perform financial report reviews of accountants' work to ensure it meets quality control and audit compliance requirements.

* Provide support and guidance to team members as required by management; lead team meetings, assist with onboarding of new assignments or take a lead role on projects.

* Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Education/Experience/Training:

* College degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred, but not required

Work Experience:

* Requires five to seven years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

* Specialized Knowledge/Skills - Experience with Yardi, MRI, or other real estate accounting software required; Strong MS Office Proficiency; Financial reporting for multiple entities preferred; Strong internal and external customer service, time management and organizational skills; Exceptional ability to be a hands-on contributor and take initiative; Ability to train, mentor and coach others effectively; Results oriented with strong sense of urgency; Experience in or demonstrated leadership and accountability skills

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $72,250.00 - $85,000.00
